Tom Izzo was offered the head coaching position of the Phoenix Suns last offseason. The job eventually went to Jordan Ott, who worked under Izzo for several years at Michigan State before eventually moving to the NBA. Izzo decided to remain at Michigan State and led the school to the Sweet 16. James Nnaji, the 7-foot center and 2023 NBA draft pick whose signing drew criticism from coaches across college basketball last month, debuted Saturday, scoring five points with four fouls in Baylor's 69-63 loss to TCU in the Big 12 opener for both teams.

UConn-Duke Averages 13.4M Viewers

Sunday's regional final between UConn and Duke averaged 13.4 million viewers on CBS. That number is up 15% from last year's Michigan State-Auburn matchup, and is the third largest audience for an individual game before the Final Four since 2021. The Huskies' win peaked with 18.9 million viewers. Although numbers were not available, CBS and TNT said that all Sweet 16 and Elite Eight telecast windows increased from last season.
