After significant changes that brought in Jaylen Brown and LeBron James, the Philadelphia 76ers will start the 2026-27 season trying to figure out how the new pieces fit in with the already-established players on the roster.

Boston Celtics governor Bill Chisholm said he had to be "convinced" by the front office about the Jaylen Brown trade before the team ultimately dealt the five-time All-Star to the Philadelphia 76ers for Paul George, two first-round draft picks and a pair of second-rounders.

By no means are we trying to be fatalistic as we trudge along through the middle of August and wait for Sixers training camp to open in late September. However, it’s at least worth pondering what MIGHT not work for Philly in a season that’s probably got more hype than any season we’ve seen for the franchise in over two decades.
