Luka Doncic has been fined $50,000 for directing an inappropriate and unprofessional gesture toward a game official. Doncic rubbed his fingers together signifying the money gesture. The incident occurred with 4:35 remaining in the third quarter of the Lakers' 110-97 victory over the New York Knicks on March 8 at Crypto.com Arena. Doncic was not assessed a technical foul as the gesture was not seen by a referee. Doncic is sitting on 15 technical fouls and one away from an automatic suspension.
He was the spark-plug scorer off the bench under former coach Quin Snyder, and even won the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year in 2021.
