Jonathan Kuminga could potentially return to the Atlanta Hawks after the franchise declined his team option earlier this summer, HoopsHype's Michael Scotto reported Wednesday.

As the wait for LeBron James to sign continues, one option he hoped to make happen has reportedly come to light.

After falling short of a potential reunion with star forward LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers have turned their attention elsewhere.

Now that the LeBron James domino has fallen, Jonathan Kuminga is now the top remaining unrestricted free agent and is on the radar for two teams with playoff aspirations next season.

LeBron James no longer has the Los Angeles Lakers, and a significant chunk of the NBA, in a holding pattern. The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to a one-year deal with wing Mario Hezonja for $2.8 million. Hezonja returns to the NBA with Cleveland after spending the last six seasons playing for teams in Greece, Russia and Spain. The 6-foot-8 last played in the NBA during the 2019-20 season with the Portland Trail Blazers. Hezonja started his NBA career with the Orlando Magic and also played for the New York Knicks. The Atlanta Hawks showed interest in trading for Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen earlier this offseason.
