Hornets Waive Ryan Nembhard; Sign Jarkel Joiner To Training Contract

The Charlotte Hornets have waived guard Ryan Nembhard. The Hornets also signed guard Jarkel Joiner to a training camp contract. Charlotte will take on $2.1 million in dead money for Nembhard for this season, unless the point guard is claimed off waivers. The Hornets acquired Nembhard from the Atlanta Hawks in a deal that sent Buddy Hield to Charlotte. The Detroit Pistons signed wing Brice Williams to an Exhibit 10 contract. Williams is expected to join the Motor City Cruise for the G League season after the NBA preseason.
