Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream couldn't make it two in a row on Friday night, falling to 19-12 on the 2026 WNBA season after a 79-74 loss to Sonia Citron and the Washington Mystics. The Dream were coming off an impressive 96-82 win on Wednesday over Alyssa Thomas and the Phoenix Mercury. Guard Allisha Gray led Atlanta with 26 points on 11-of-23 shooting, six rebounds and two assists, while Shakira Austin led the Mystics with 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting.

The franchise that Alyssa Thomas helped reach two WNBA Finals and six consecutive playoff semifinals honored her on Friday night, retiring her No. 25 jersey.
