Sunday night featured the two teams that started the WNBA’s journey thirty years ago. But as harmonious as the pre-game brunch and a friendly tip-off between Lisa Leslie (Los Angeles Sparks) and Kym Hampton (New York Liberty) were, the game brought the same level of feisty energy on the floor.

The Liberty squandered a 17-point third-quarter lead. They got complacent and it resulted in them fighting with the Sparks down the stretch, only to lose on Nneka Ogwumike’s buzzer-beating 3-pointer.
