Teams only wanted Morant in an asset-only trade (like the Trae Young deal), or if the Grizzlies attatched a pick.
Ja Morant stayed put at the trade deadline, with the Grizzlies unwilling to accept a return similar to what the Hawks received for Trae Young. Still, per Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, multiple teams believe the Bucks have legitimate interest in Morant — either as a potential long-term successor to Giannis Antetokounmpo or, in […] The post NBA Notes: Morant chatter, Bulls’ cap plan, Yabusele’s next move appeared first on Hoops Wire .

Trae Young is getting closer to his Washington Wizards debut, but Anthony Davis still isn’t ready for the practice court, the team announced on Thursday. The Wizards acquired the injured duo — who have 14 All-Star appearances between them — in respective trades with Atlanta in January and Dallas earlier this month. The 27-year-old Young last played on Dec. 27.
Davis' hand will be re-evaluated in two weeks, while Young will be out at least another week.

The Grizzlies talked to the Heat, Timberwolves, and Bucks about Morant, […]
The Los Angeles Clippers' recent trades of James Harden and Ivica Zubac stem from a strategic conclusion that cap space won't attract elite talent in 2027. The front office recognized that true star players rarely reach free agency due to changes made to the ease of extensions, prompting a shift toward asset accumulation. Recent transaction history supports the Clippers' assessment. Trae Young, Anthony Davis, Jimmy Butler, and Brandon Ingram all switched teams through trades rather than signi...
