New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart was recently asked if she ever feels overlooked after all she’s accomplished in the WNBA when speaking at one of her team’s recent practices. The Liberty return to playoff action on Sunday, playing their first game against the Atlanta Dream after causing a bit of an upset in the first round.
The 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup crowned Breanna Stewart its MVP. In the WNBA, A’ja Wilson has dominated the MVP awards, winning it three times since 2022.
The New York Liberty, battered with injuries throughout the regular season, managed to finish only eighth in the standings. Straight away, the 2024 champions were not deemed a championship contender this season.

When the storm hit, it was the Minnesota Lynx who were sent seeking shelter. The initial surge came courtesy of Jonquel Jones, who scored the Liberty’s first 7 points of the game, tirelessly working the offensive glass. Then came a cutting layup from Breanna Stewart off the assist from Sabrina Ionescu. It was Ionesc
