Hoopsmachine fixes that. We monitor hundreds of basketball news sources in real-time and automatically group articles covering the same story into clusters. One story, every angle, one place.
How it works
Every few minutes, our system:
- Fetches new articles from RSS feeds across major outlets, beat reporters, team sites, and independent analysts
- Analyzes each article using AI to determine what it’s about, which teams and players are involved, and what category it falls into (trade, injury, draft, etc.)
- Clusters articles about the same story using semantic similarity, so a Woj tweet, an ESPN article, and a team blog post about the same trade all end up together
- Ranks stories by freshness, source authority, and how many outlets are covering them
The result is a clean, real-time feed of basketball news where important stories rise to the top and you can see every source’s take in one place.
